Dental implants
Lost teeth are far more common than we realise. And we’re here to assist.
When a tooth is lost due to injury or decay, a person can experience complications such as rapid bone loss, defective speech, or changes to chewing patterns that result in discomfort. Replacing a lost tooth with a dental implant can significantly improve the patient’s quality of life and health.
A dental implant is a structure that replaces a missing tooth. With screw-like devices, the surgeon inserts an implant into the jawbone, and it acts as an anchor for an artificial tooth, called a crown.
A device called an abutment connects the artificial tooth to the dental implant.
The crown is custom-made to fit the person’s mouth and match the color of their teeth. Crowns look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
It is also the only dental restoration option that maintains the health of the person’s jawbone and stimulates its growth.
On top of single implants for missing teeth we also offer All-on-4 implants, which can be used to restore all of your teeth with as few as four implants. We could also provide full mouth implants to patients who do not want to wear dentures.
Advantages of Implant
- Restores the ability to chew
- Restores cosmetic appearance
- Helps keep the jawbone from shrinking due to bone loss
- Don’t decay
- Preserves the health of the surrounding bone and gums
- Helps keep adjacent (nearby) teeth stable
- Improves quality of life
- Less maintenance cost, no relining required.
dental implants are not suitable for everyone. Implants must bond with the jawbone, so a person’s bones must be healthy before they can undergo implant surgery. A CBCT scan and OPG is taken to evaluate the bone quality and bone health to decide about feasibility of an implant.
Implants can be conventional or basal implants. Many factors influence the type, design and length of the implants. To know if this option suits you, contact our front desk at 9188820999.
